New favorite plugin: Winamp API Emulator (foo_winamp_spam)
Emulates a Winamp API window. This allows many winamp compatible
programs to recognize foobar2000 as if it were winamp and the plugin
will convert the winamp control/status requests into the appropriate
foobar2000 equivelant where such exists.
So far I've tested it with Foxytunes' Winamp mode and Semagic's 'detect music' and it works. It's amazing. I love it.

were you having issues with foxytunes reading foobar?
iwhat else are you useing the winamp api for if you're not using that shell much anymore?
I was prior to being pointed to the FAQ. Thanks again for that.
And no, not much at the moment, but I like knowing I can, because most player controls assume people use Winamp (and probably for good reason).
And on a strange, random note, I just randomly ran into a comment of your's on sfx
. What a small Internet. :P

no problem. i forgot about telling you that. a lot of people don't seem to know about it somehow.
would the API allow you to run Milkdrop?
about the random note.. i'm sure the foundation can easily afford one well made commercial.
re: Milkdrop, I don't think so. If so, I don't know where such an interface for starting Milkdrop would be. This is all I get:
And re: Mozilla - I'm sure they can afford it, too, but it's probably the same as with the NYT ad - not everyone who has donated money to the Foundation would agree that ads are a worthwhile way to spend their money. To run other ads (after the Times one), they would be best off taking up another collection of money that would be specifically earmarked for ads, so people who donate to that project are expressing that they don't mind their money going toward ads.
